Now, this wasn't his original idea. He was only agreeing with Jerry Clower, a country comedian born in 1926.
In any case, Mr. Riggs goes on and on about how, if we [women] would only go back to getting up early to make homemade biscuits for our families, then the world would be a better place.
It is time, women of America, to come to your senses. Halt the alarming increase in the divorce rate. Bring the homemade biscuit back to your breakfast table.
Mr. Riggs, it is because of men like you that the divorce rate is, what it is.
Thank goodness more and more women are smart enough to see they have more to offer the world than just being able to make biscuits and keep simple-minded men happy. These women might even be the same ones to someday discover a medical cure you'll need or provide the insight you desire into your favorite sports team's latest strategies.
The alarming increase in the divorce rate can only be stopped when this type of sexist attitude is eradicated. Until then, women will keep asking for divorce when they have finally had enough of being treated as inferior beings.
Maybe you can learn that an equitable relationship is more fulfilling to both partners. Then you will make your own damn biscuits with that special ingredient you so poignantly pointed out ... love. Not submission.

Canned biscuits were one of the things that propelled my first marriage into the golden age. My then wife would make them for me, then send me off to work from our Willow apartment.
